David Blackmon
Dave has been Youth Director at First Presbyterian Church for two years.
He has a B.A. in Music Education from Warner Southern College and a M. Div. from
South Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
He has served as interim Part-time Minister of Music at First Baptist Church, Arcadia,
Florida and Minister of Music at Wayside Baptist Church, Lake Wales, Florida,
Minister of Music at North Street Baptist Church Raleigh, North Carolina;
Grace Baptist Church, Fayetteville, North Carolina. He also served as part-time
Youth Pastor at Dundee Baptist Church, Dundee, Florida and Covenant Presbyterian Church.
Dave has been with the Polk County school system for ten years and is currently the
band director at Frostproof Middle/Sr. High School, Frostproof, Florida.
Choir Director
Wendy Garcia
Wendy has been choir director since 1988, when she moved to Florida from Michigan.
She has a Bachelor of Music degree from Hope College, Holland, Michigan.
She taught K-12 music for four years in Michigan and has taught K-5 music and chorus
for the past 23 years at Avon Elementary, Avon Park, Florida.
She received her National Board Certification in Music in 2002.
Wendy is happily married and has wonderful daughter, April, who is in high school.
